In the national capital of the country, crimes are at their peak, and one of the most shameful act is attacking a person with acid. The person attacked is not only physically injured but mentally and socially wounded for the lifetime.
At the time of the accident, if the patient is immediately taken to the hospital and properly taken care of, he/she may survive without scars on body and soul. For this purpose, the Delhi government decided to bear the treatment cost of acid attack victims in private hospitals of Delhi.
Delhi private hospitals refuse to admit such patients because of the fear of police case or to avoid extra expenses. This new Delhi government scheme will cover 230 private hospitals which are found well equipped with facilities and apparatus to treat acid attacked patients.
Delhi Government Scheme to Bear the Treatment Cost of Acid Attack Victims in Delhi Private Hospitals
Delhi health minister Mr Satyendar Jain said that they aim to save as many lives as possible and that the hours spent for taking the patient to the government hospital should be saved as they are precious.
The expenses borne by the government will include emergency service, patient’s stay in the hospital for two days in an economy, surgeries and some other expenditures. The regional director of health services will prolong the hospital stay of the patient if needed.
The private hospitals are instructed to report the condition of the patient after 12 hours of patient’s admission to the hospital. The necessary papers of the patient showing his health status along with other legal documents should be submitted to the government for receiving free treatment.
The only condition for this Delhi Sarkari Yojana will be that accident or mishap should occur within the territory of the national capital as this Delhi government scheme is for only for Acid attack Delhi. Though it also covers the patients of burns and road accidents in the capital. It is a big relief for those who are suffered with Acid attack, but have no money for the treatment in private hospitals, and Sarkari Hospitals may not have the best facilities available. But, now we should salute the Delhi Government and Aam Aadmi Party who is in Delhi running the government.
